Canyoning at Wadi Mujib

Guided canyon adventures. Learn how canyoning fits with the entrance fee and Adventure Center.

What Is Canyoning at Wadi Mujib?

Canyoning at Wadi Mujib means guided trips through the canyon that can include rappelling, climbing, swimming, and jumping in controlled sections. It is more structured and often more challenging than the self-guided Siq Trail. Canyoning is typically run by licensed operators; your guide provides equipment and leads the route. Use the menu for an overview of the reserve and for location and travel.

Canyoning may have a separate fee on top of the reserve entrance fee. Booking is usually required. The Adventure Center is the main hub for information and sometimes for booking or meeting guides. Check opening hours and availability; canyoning runs when conditions allow.

Canyoning vs. Siq Trail and Ibex Trail

The Siq Trail is a self-guided water hike: you follow the river upstream with a life jacket. Canyoning is guided and can include rappelling, rope work, and more technical sections. The Ibex Trail is a dry hike with no swimming. Choose the Siq for a classic water experience, the Ibex for dry views, and canyoning for a guided, technical adventure. All require the reserve entrance fee; canyoning often has an additional activity fee.

Canyoning is weather- and season-dependent. It typically runs in the same general season as the Siq (spring–fall). Confirm with the operator or at the Adventure Center and check opening hours before you travel.

Who Is Canyoning For?

Canyoning suits visitors who want a guided, more adventurous experience and are comfortable with rappelling, climbing, and swimming. Fitness and sometimes previous experience may be required depending on the route. If you prefer something less technical, the Siq Trail is a great water option and the Ibex Trail is ideal for dry hiking. Ask at the Adventure Center which activity fits your level and the day's conditions.

Booking in advance is recommended. Arrive within the reserve's opening hours, pay the entrance fee, and go to the Adventure Center to meet your guide or confirm your canyoning slot. Plan your journey using the Where Is Wadi Mujib page in the menu so you are on time.

Planning Your Canyoning Trip

Confirm canyoning availability and pricing with the official reserve or licensed operators. Your entrance fee covers access to the reserve; the canyoning experience itself may have an extra cost. The Adventure Center is where you typically register, get equipment, and meet guides. Check opening hours and allow enough time for the full activity.
